Counselling & Psychotherapy in Bristol

Helping you navigate life’s journey

Free Online Consultation

I offer counselling and psychotherapy in Bristol, working privately from quiet, confidential therapy rooms in Clifton and Westbury-on-Trym, as well as online.

Therapy can help you explore life experiences and recurring patterns of behaviour, process and validate feelings, reduce stress and anxiety, and build a deeper and more meaningful understanding of yourself.

My approach as a psychotherapeutic counsellor is pluralistic, which means I believe there isn’t a “one-size-fits-all” approach to therapy. Instead, we will work together in a truly collaborative way, with the objective of finding what feels most helpful to you as an individual experiencing therapy.

How counselling can help

People come to counselling and psychotherapy for many different reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, grief, relationship difficulties, addiction-related issues, low self-esteem, or patterns of thoughts and behaviours that feel difficult to understand or change.

Counselling provides a supportive space to gently explore what is happening in your life, what may have shaped the way you feel, and what might help you move forward.

Therapy can help strengthen resilience, build healthy coping mechanisms, support new-found confidence and reinforce healthier thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

My approach to therapy

At the heart of my practice is the therapeutic relationship. I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, accepted and understood.

I firmly believe that when we are met with genuine empathy, honesty and unconditional positive regard, meaningful change becomes possible.

I work from a trauma-informed perspective, moving at your pace and supporting you to explore patterns of thoughts and behaviours, make sense of your lived experiences and reconnect with your authentic self.

Working together in this way, you can gently navigate challenges, build self-awareness and find ways forward that feel right for you.

Counselling, psychotherapy and talking therapy

Counselling and psychotherapy are both forms of talking therapy. The terms often overlap, but psychotherapy can sometimes involve deeper exploration of patterns, relationships, past experiences and the way these may still affect the present.

My work is psychotherapeutic in nature, but always collaborative. We can explore what is happening now, what has happened before, and what might help you feel more able to live in a way that feels meaningful and manageable.
